LAZARUS

Jesus wept.

Then said the Jews, BEHOLD HOW HE LOVED HIM!

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, LOOSE HIM, AND LET HIM GO.

The story of Lazarus is the perfect symbolic parallel for Christ's relationship to each one of us. Jesus Christ descended into the very pit of darkness to bring each one of us back from the jaws of death. The emotions Jesus felt for Lazarus can also be said for each one of us. How he LOVES us! How he WEPT for us! And after his descent below all things in his mortal life, paying the heaviest of all prices, and traversing the darkest cave in search of us--he found us! Then said He with absolute authority . . . "LOOSE THEM, AND LET THEM GO!"
